7. Foreshadowing & The Pokémon Dream World
In Pokémon Ruby and Sapphire, theres a scientist on the second floor of the Devon Corporations building in Rustboro city. You can bring fossils to him and have them restored, but fossils arent the subject of his primary research. Hes actually working on two devices; one that will allow humans to communicate with Pokémon, and one that will allow humans to explore visual representations of the dreams of Pokémon. In Pokémon Black and White - almost ten years later - the Dream Radar feature was introduced, allowing players to choose their favourite Pokémon, tuck them into bed and use them as a conduits to explore the Pokémon Dream World. Its a neat idea, but the fact that it was foreshadowed way back in 2002 makes it all the more awesome. Similar foreshadowing can be seen in Pokémon Blue and Red, in which a woman named Picnicker Carol on Route 10 wishes there was a pink Pokémon with floral patterns. In Pokémon Black and White, Picnicker Carol got her wish; the Pokémon Munna was introduced; a pink spherical Pokémon decorated in a floral pattern.
