2. DOOM (2016) - Id Software
After Wolfenstein's revival, came DOOM, successfully finding a middle ground for both modern FPS gameplay and its original feel back in the '90s, DOOM was a gory and gratifying FPS experience.
A campaign that works as both a sequel and reboot of the original DOOM, stomping around Mars and Hell as the unstoppable Doom Guy (DoomSlayer now) of which the game is fully aware of, even the demons themselves express their fear of you, working to inflate your gaming ego.
With the wide array of familiar weapons that will eradicate the spawns of hell, unstoppable is the right word as you begin to believe that delusion; charging through imps, knights, archdemons and mancubuses (Mancubi?) until the genuine challenge of the game sets in creating a dynamic that'll keep you on the game until completion.
Accompanying the story is a fast-paced, fun multiplayer mode which comes with a map maker system and space marine and weapon customisation that consists of a wide choice of colour and armour parts.
