15 Best Hidden Gem Video Games Of The Decade

12. Resistance 3

Resistance 3
Insomniac Games

It took them three attempts, but Insomniac finally fulfilled the potential of their post-apocalyptic alien shooter series Resistance with the final game. Though the first two releases weren't quite the Halo killer Sony probably wanted, they were still ambitious FPS games, with interesting stories and a damn good world to fight your way through.

The third game elevated everything though. The narrative was more emotional, characters more well-rounded, and the gunplay was tighter than ever. Throw in some spectacular set-pieces, and Resistance 3 was one of the best shooters of 2011, it was just too little too late.

At that point PS3 players had kind of given up on the franchise ever becoming the big smash hit it could have been, and with 2011 being a particularly stacked year, it ended up buried.

It's gained a following now though, and hopefully Sony will get around to remastering the entire series one day.
