15 Best Hidden PS4 Gems Of The Generation (So Far)

13. Skylanders Superchargers

Attack on titan wings of freedom
Vicarious Visions

Skylanders seems to have a bit of a negative stigma around it for being a kids game, but that doesn’t mean it isn’t really great fun.

I enjoyed working my way through the levels, getting new abilities for my characters and beating the baddies up as I went. It’s got a certain nostalgic feel about it that’s pretty hard to put your finger on. Growing up in the 90s, we had an abundance of of mascot platformers that just stopped being made after a while, which this essentially taps back into.

Superchargers brings back the same sort of charm, with lite kart racing and vehicle-based segments. Some are simply inoffensive, but others are nicely polished and have a certain playful feel to them. The usual Skylanders paywalls are greatly reduced this time around too, with the player only really needing to have one vehicle of each type (which there are three of), rather than about twenty different characters.

These sort of games tank in price after a couple of years, and Superchargers is more or less at the point of doing so right now.
