The wonderful - and still somewhat underrated - Until Dawn recognised the power of teen horror when it comes to video games, as the genre has actually rarely been tapped into.
Night School Studio promptly recognised this and turned in Oxenfree, a spectacularly charming point n' click that sees a band of thrown-together teenagers exploring a nearby island. In-depth social interactions are the bread and butter of the game, but the hook comes through a killer dialogue system that fleshes every character out perfectly.
It's all framed in a tone dripping with foreboding and a constant supernatural element changes up the context of your conversations by 'rewinding' them to allow for different conversation options and character depth. Think Life is Strange but with - in my opinion - a more relatable cast.
