11. Super Mario Maker 2

Animal Crossing New Horizons
Nintendo

Taking us back to old-school Mario side-scrollers, but this time with a twist, Super Mario Maker 2 only expands on its predecessors.

Much like the first Mario Maker, this game allows players to build their own levels, using assets from every prior Mario game, and trust me, there are a LOT. The resources are near endless, but what is truly endless is the amount of possibilities as you design entire levels or even just an un-moving frame where players will struggle to beat their own designs.

But on top of all that, the Mario Makers allow you to share your twisted and well-devised inventions to the internet, where you can expose the world to your own inner-most game developer or play the games created by countless others, in a test to see who can make the hardest, smoothest, and most well-designed levels.

This sequel adds the capacity for co-op courses, essentially doubling the possibilities for two-player, but up to 4 people can play at once on the same course, allowing for competitive or cooperative games.
