3. Charizard
With an entire type dedicated to dragons, there are plenty of Pokémon dragons that could have made this list. There's Dragonite, Salamence, and Dragapult. There's also practically every legendary Pokémon. Oh, and who could forget the majesty that is the Applin line which if I didn't mind getting yelled at on Twitter would get this spot on the list because the idea of a dragon that's just an apple is inherently funny.
It's kind of ironic that with all of these Pokémon, the one that gets a spot on the list isn't even a dragon type. Charizard is a fire, flying type but it makes no sense that the Pokémon isn't a dragon type. In fact, GameFreak remedied their mistake years later in Pokémon X and Y with Mega Charizard X who finally gets the dragon typing.
Charizard just couldn't not make it onto this list, it's base form Charmander is what many people who weren't cool enough to pick Bulbasaur chose as their first Pokémon, Ash's Charizard is one of his most memorable 'Mons in the anime, and unless you did the tedious task of raising up the rare Dratini, it was the closest thing you were getting to a dragon in gen one.
