I cannot put into words how much I love this game, and how much I want literally every single person reading this to give it a shot.

MOON Studios are easily one of the most talented developers working today. Ori's mix of Disney-sized operatic scores with sumptuously stunning visuals, emotive character animations and a tone that mixes genuine sadness with euphoric highs, makes for one of the finest games in console history.

When all these elements come together - which honestly, is the entirety of its 10 hour runtime - both this and original Blind Forest are just magical.

I could take any number of moments to highlight. The opening montage alone is heartwarming and charming as the baby owl you rescued from the first game learns to fly. Rebuilding the Wellspring Glades ravaged by demonic rot is another; seeing characters build houses for each other, remove thorny vines or plant seeds that bloom into trees and pastures you can climb.

For the top spot though, I'm gonna go with the ending. I won't spoil it as hopefully you'll take my advice and see it for yourself, but Will of the Wisps ends on a sequence that absolutely ruined me. A raw emotional climax that's both sad, uplifting and essential all in one.

If The Last of Us 2 bummed you out, Ori will bring you back.
