15 Best Video Games Of The Decade (So Far)

14. Saints Row: The Third

Chances are you'll rarely find the incredibly vast and self-serious worlds of The Witcher followed up by a title where you're free to play as a balloon-chested female (or mega-dong'd dude) who can be busting out the 'Carlton Dance' one minute, and rescuing hostages as 'I Need A Hero' plays underneath the next. But that's Saints Row: The Third, and it's also just two of the hundreds of reasons you'll encounter that wrap THQ's finest execution on the new direction Saints 2 started heading in. With third person gunplay, some brilliantly impactful close-quarters animations, hilarious writing and a plot that has you taking down scores of goons in a post-aeroplane-explosion free-fall, there's little to dislike about Saints 3. Even if you think this sort of comedy is 'too easy', the deftness at which the script will deliver a string of one-liners or references before hurtling you into the middle of the action is totally worth commending.
