15 Best Wrestling Games Ever
2K Games

There could be cries of recency bias amongst readers who just flat out don't like 2K's more modern entries since the soft reboot post-2K20. Credit where it's due: 2K has worked really, really hard to make up for that disaster, and each subsequent entry since 2K22 has been an improvement. The upcoming 2K25 is predicted to be less of an overhaul and more of a perfection.

That'd sum up 2K24 too. Honestly, if you tired of WWE games and were scared off by 2K20, then you're in for a treat if 2K24 turns out to be your re-entry point. There's so much to see and do here. Modes like MyRise and Showcase serve up excellent story-led gameplay, MyGM isn't a return to the old GM Mode heyday but does scratch an itch, and Universe is still fun for those who like customisation and crafting their own WWE sandbox.

Speaking of which, the Community Creations hub. Oh, that hub. It's an endless stream of quality CAWs, Arenas, belts and more from people who clearly put a shift in and are proud of their work. This has been a stroke of genius from 2K. They've let passionate fans take the lead, and thus opened up your game to become a WCW/ECW/AEW/TNA/New Japan/retro WWF dreamland.

Choice, options and customisation are the three most vital aspects of 2K24. Splash pure gameplay that's actually fun again on top of that and you've got one of the best pro wrestling games ever made. The best ever? Not quite, but it's up there in the conversation and that's a triumph for 2K considering how disillusioned the fanbase was five years or so ago.
