4. Microsoft Teases New Next-Gen IP

Microsoft is clearly getting their ducks in a row for the next generation of gaming, and given that the Xbox One suffered through a brutal lack of quality first-party titles, what better way to restore faith than tease some of the new IP in early development from their recently-acquired studios?

It's probably fair to say that new games from the likes of Ninja Theory and bespoke outfit The Initiative aren't that far along in development after their acquisition was announced at E3 last year, but even just a sizzle reel of alpha footage could be a neat way to stir up interest.

Though Microsoft will be holding back some of their big reveals for next year's E3 - the final one before their new platform releases, no doubt - they desperately need to convince players that they won't be repeating the Xbox One's mistakes, and this could be a grand gesture in that regard.
