14. Xbox Game Pass Confirmed For Switch, Gets Major PC Support
Word started doing the rounds recently that Microsoft and Nintendo are planning to collaborate in a way that signals a potentially seismic shift for the gaming industry.
If aggressive rumours are to be believed, the two companies will soon announce that the Xbox Game Pass subscription service will be available on Nintendo Switch.
Leaks point to the Switch taking advantage of Microsoft's xCloud streaming tech, allowing potentially any Xbox release from past, present or future to be streamed on a Switch. It's also been suggested that less graphically intensive games may become available as direct downloads on Game Pass.
If the Switch's rather dodgy WiFi can deliver the required connectivity, this would be a major win for both companies, and there's not really much reason to doubt that it's happening.
In addition to this, Microsoft is also widely expected to reveal that a far greater percentage of their Game Pass library will be available for PC players as part of their Play Anywhere program, and that this may well extend to previous-gen games.
Game Pass has so much potential to reshape the way games are played, and announcing all this before the next generation gets started would be a damn smart idea.
