15 Greatest Video Game Crossovers Ever

13. Fighters Megamix

Yes, the above picture features a human-sized car beating someone up. No, it's not photoshopped or a mod of any kind - its name is Hornet and he's a 'character' from Sega's famous Daytona series of arcade racing games. Much like Wario Blast - but on a far grander scale - Fighters Megamix is another example of how games developers used to have fun with their intellectual properties. Nowadays, everything Sega rolls off the production line is devoid of any soul or willingness to innovate. Take a look, for example, at literally every single Sonic title other than Sonic Generations for an idea as to how far into the ground they've run that name. Enough of the downers, though. Fighters Megamix was originally envisioned as a precursor to Virtua Fighters 3, and featured many of that series' characters along with attendees from various other Sega brands, including Virtua Cop and Fighting Vipers. Kooky is the only valid word to describe this crossover fighter, and that's used in the most complimentary way possible. There's even an unlockable character in the game that's literally a piece of meat. His name is Mr. Meat, because of course it is.
