15 Iconic Final Shots Of Beloved Video Game Characters

15. Albert Wesker - Resident Evil 5

Let's start things off with potentially the most ridiculous ending to any character in the history in gaming. Albert Wesker, the perennial baddie in Capcom's Zombie-em-up series, Resident Evil, has graced five of the main games in the series and is the perfect fantastical antagonist for the series. He's rich, disarmingly intelligent and brutally violent as well has having nothing but contempt for mankind and a desire to rule the world. In Resident Evil 5, Wesker is up to his dirty tricks in pulling the strings behind the Tricell pharmaceutical company to develop the Uroboros virus, which he planned to release into the atmosphere and infect the whole planet in one shot. Chris Redfield and Sheva Alomar spend the game chasing him down and eventually uncover his weakness, poisoning him as he tries to escape. This is where it gets ridiculous. Chris and Sheva fight with Wesker in the mouth of the volcano until Wesker is weakened and falls into the lava. As if by magic, a rescue helicopter turns up and saves the two heroes, lifting them to safety. With his dying act, Wesker grabs the helicopter in the hope of finally killing Chris, only for him to fire a rocket into Wesker, killing him and ending the run of one of the most recognisable baddies in gaming. Capcom have come out and said that RE5 is the end of Wesker, that his death is permanent. It was the end of one of the most insipid, insidious characters in gaming and the RE universe will not be the same without him. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=foLTVFjTs-4
