15 Insane Call Of Duty Moments That Blew Your Mind

12. The F.A.G.S. Controversy (Modern Warfare 2)

Roughly two weeks before Modern Warfare 2 was due to release, Infinity Ward released a video starring the Philadelphia Phillies' Cole Hamels, who begged players not to randomly spam other players with grenades.

Hamels goes on to call such players "p***ies" before getting covered with grenades himself and blown up, before a notice appears reading, "Funding provided by: Fight Against Grenade Spam".

The acronym for that fictional organisation of course spells out a homophobic slur in "F.A.G.S.", which caused a major uproar online and resulted n the video being pulled from official CoD channels.

Infinity Ward community manager Robert Bowling unconvincingly tried to claim the video was an attempt at social satire, but it ultimately just reinforced the idea that CoD panders to immature adolescents and dude-bros.
