Making its way over to the console space for the first time, the majority of gamers can finally get their hands on the series that a vocal selection of players have been championing for years.

Monster Hunter: World allegedly boasts a story mode that lasts well over 50 hours, but even if the narrative itself fails to satisfy, the core gameplay loop of slaying monsters and levelling up has been perfected so much over the past decade that the developers essentially have to try to mess it up.

The recent beta proved the open-world RPG has retained its quality despite the jump to new platforms, becoming a tighter and more ambitious game than ever before in the process.

Dropping at the end of January, Monster Hunter: World could be the first big game of 2018, and should kick the year off with a bang.
