15 Most-Anticipated Video Games Of 2019

7. Doom Eternal

Doom Eternal
Bethesda

Release Date: TBD

2016's Doom was, despite being a throwback to the first person shooters of old, a major breath of fresh air. It was tight, fluid, and in returning to the simplicity of earlier FPS games, managed to divest from the stale cliches that've largely typified the genre over the last 10 or so years.

So, you can understand why the announcement of a follow-up - Doom Eternal - has gotten everyone so excited. There'll be twice as many Demon types, and with id Software still pulling the strings, players can expect an experience that'll be just as compelling as the previous instalment in the franchise.

There's still no word on when it'll release this year, but it is marked down to launch in 2019. Here's hoping more info is forthcoming in the weeks and months ahead.
