Rage 2 is primarily being developed by Avalanche Studios, and given that they're the same folks who brought everyone Just Cause and 2015's underrated Mad Max, to say that Rage is a good match for the team would be putting things lightly.

The original Rage wasn't anything spectacular, being overshadowed by Gearbox's Borderlands to a certain degree, but it did show promise. Everything that we've seen so far regarding the sequel, however, makes it look as though Avalanche will deliver upon the first game's untapped potential, doubling down on all the high-octane silliness this time around and injecting the game with a purple-y green colour pallet too.

Releasing May 14, Rage 2 is set over three decades since the events of the first, and will feature gunplay and vehicular combat. With id Software returning to collaborate on development too, all signs point towards this sequel succeeding where its predecessor did not.
