Metacritic Score: 69 (PS4) Much like its uninspired title, the new Need for Speed just isn't very fresh or interesting, and so it's difficult to justify shelling out cash for the experience. The graphics are gorgeous and some of the customisation options are great, but the rubber-banding is atrocious for a 2015 racing game, a curious decision was made for it to be permanently set at night time which hampers the diversity, the always-online gameplay is constrictive, and the live-action cut-scenes are terrible. Intended as a reboot to revitalise the series, NFS instead feels like the most stale entry in years, and suggests that EA again need to go back to the drawing board. Considering that many originally hoped it would be a third Underground game, that might be the route to go next time...
