Metacritic Score: 76 (PS4) Widely hyped as the next big multiplayer game, Evolve certainly had an impressive hook (4 players take on a fifth player, who is a gigantic, ever-evolving monster), but lost its community even faster than, say, Titanfall, due to the depressing lack of content on offer. Yes, Evolve is somewhat enjoyable for a few hours, but it quickly becomes tiresome because there's not enough to do, and the core gameplay is insanely repetitive. Plus, those awesome showdowns you'd expect are fairly infrequent, the team vs. monster exchanges more often than not being clumsy battles rather than cool clips you'll want to show off to your friends. Considering how much personality Turtle Rock Studios' prior series, Left 4 Dead, was overflowing with, this one feels positively bland, and let's not even bother talking about the game's approach to DLC...
