Metacritic Score: 32 (PS4) Yes, the writing was kinda on the wall for this one ahead of release, but it doesn't quite end up being predictably bad because, while the graphics looked pretty rancid, there was still hope that the gameplay might result in a ride worth taking. Sadly, this isn't the case at all. Tony Hawk's Pro Skater fans were so, so eager for a loud, obnoxious injection of nostalgia in the arm, but this low-budget, low-effort bowel movement from RoboModo strips away almost everything fans love about the series in pursuit of a quick, easy buck before their hold over the franchise comes to an end. Yes, the visuals feel at least five years behind the times, but it's the gameplay that truly sinks this one: the game's rife with glitches, the skating feels frequently "off", the quests on each level are tedious and repetitive, and any semblance of multiplayer is an outright disaster. No doubt one of the worst "AAA" games to hit shelves in years. Atrocious. Hopefully a Skate sequel or EA acquiring the Tony Hawk's license can result in a solid palette cleanser in the near future. Yes, we actually want EA to get their hands on a property...
