15 Most Disappointing Video Games Of The Decade
12. Resident Evil 6
The franchise was shaken a little bit following Resident Evil 5, but nobody expected just how much of a decline Resi 6 was going to be.
Before release, Capcom put hundreds of developers on the sequel in an attempt to create three distinct campaigns (four if you count Ada's) that would reflect different parts of Resi's heritage. Leon's was supposed to be the classic survival-horror experience pioneered by 4, Chris' would double down on the action-heavy 5, and newcomer Jake's would push the franchise into uncharted melee-based territory.
Of course, in trying to please everyone, the developers ended up pleasing nobody, as none of the campaigns could be as distinct as they set out to be, and in the end they all ended up being variations on similar ideas.
There were redeeming features, but the game had lost its identity, and was crushed under its own bloat.
