15 Most Embarrassing Video Game Moments Of 2017
11. Microsoft Finally Gives Up On The Kinect
It appeared Microsoft had given up on the Kinect when the Xbox One S was released, as there wasn't even a Kinect port on the console. You would need a hideous and embarrassingly large adapter to plug it in, which opted many to just throw it in a box in the closet.
With the Kinect on the ropes for years, Microsoft finally pulled the plug this October, stating that all manufacturing for the Kinect has been stopped, but it is not the end of its technology. That last bit more than likely in reference to the fact that Kinect software helps power the Microsoft HoloLens, about the only useful thing it's ever done.
It's no surprise that Microsoft finally called it quits with the Kinect, as it was never a popular peripheral to begin with. Yes, it had a couple fun dancing games for those who enjoyed that sort of thing, but other than stopping and starting your Netflix movie, it had little use. What's more surprising is that it's taken Microsoft this long to actually give up on something so small of the fanbase wanted in the first part.
Goodnight sweet prince, you won't be missed.
