The plasma cutter is the perfect weapon for fighting Necromorphs. It's almost as if it was designed for Isaac's exact scenario. Funny how that works out, huh? Certain situations might call for liberal use of the pulse rifle or a couple well-placed contact beam shots, but most of the time you'll be sticking to the starting weapon, your trusty rusty 211-V Plasma Cutter. Dead Space is a game series wherein the core mechanic is limb dismemberment, making a pistol that can fire horizontal and vertical lines the best weapon in the game. That's a shame too, because there are so many other great guns and tools you'll end up ignoring for the starting weapon.
