15 Things Only Rainbow Six: Siege Fans Will Understand
9. The Shame Of Being Killed By A Shield That's Backed Into A Corner
I don't know why it happens, but every half-decent player seems to completely lose all their skill when going up against an operator with a shield. Whether it's just panic or the fear of the unknown, trying to take someone out using a shield can be a hassle, especially if it's a one-on-one fight and they back themselves into a corner, defended at every angle.
It's an odd situation to come across: one player with their backs against the wall, while their opponent helplessly fires at them, causing no damage at all. When this stalemate occurs, a victory can only be achieved through mind games, as one opponent baits the other out and forces them to make a mistake they can capitalise on.
However, what makes these situations prone to ending in a blaze of hilarious glory is the fact that both players know they're being watched by their whole team. Going up against someone with a pistol and shield while you're wielding a fully-auto rifle in theory favours you, but by overthinking it and making a silly mistake you can easily lose the round, and have to live with the embarrassment of knowing everyone just saw you get killed by the ultimate troll.
