15 Things We Learned At The PlayStation Experience 2016

2. Nex Machina: Death Machine Is A Gorgeous Arcade Shooter

The Last Of Us Part 2
Housemarque

In terms of new IPs shown off at PSX, there was arguably nothing more alluring than Nex Machina: Death Machine, the new title from fantastic devs Housemarque (Resogun, Alienation) in conjunction with game industry legend Eugene Jarvis (Defender).

Nex Machina is a top-down shooter packed to the gills with eye-searingly insane visuals and wonderful synth music, so yes, it's a card-carrying Housemarque game through-and-through.

Though it's a tad anti-climactic that the beautiful animated sequence which opened the trailer isn't indicative of anything approaching actual gameplay, it still looks like fast, frantic fun, and given the company's track record, you basically can't afford to miss this.
