15 Things We Learned From Sony's Paris Games Week Livestream
13. Guacamelee! & Spelunky Sequels Are Coming
During the conference pre-show, two indie sequels were announced, with Guacamelee! and Spelunky getting sequels likely to be released next year.
Guacamelee! was of course the widely-acclaimed 2013 wrestling-themed Metroidvana game, which is now getting a follow-up with four-player co-op and will be released "soon-ish".
Spelunky is a much-loved rogue-lite that first emerged in 2008, and fans have been clamouring for a sequel ever since. From the little we can glean from the brief trailer, it seems that Spelunky 2 will revolve around the original protagonist's son.
If you were worried that Sony was beginning to move away from championing indie titles, you can breathe a sigh of relief.
