5. Grim Fandango HD

Of all the games that have had HD remakes over the years, few can claim to be as worthy as Tim Schafer's noir adventure masterpiece Grim Fandango, originally released for the PC in 1998 and universally acclaimed on release for its superb art style and quirky story. Considering the game's commercial failure, it's a surprise that Schafer is even bothering, though nostalgia value and the title's sheer legacy should help it drum up plenty of interest among gamers. To enter this world again in glorious HD will hopefully be like playing Manny's adventure all over again for the first time, and if you've never played it before, you're in for a real treat. Sadly it looks as though this one's a while away from completion yet, but despite being based on a game over 15 years old, it's easily one of the system's most anticipated titles to date.
