15 Upcoming Video Games To Make A Wii U Worth Buying

3. Yoshi's Woolly World

Believe it or not, Yoshi's Woolly World is to be the first Yoshi game on a home console since 1998's underwhelming Yoshi's Story. Quite how the lovable dinosaur has gone that long without a console game is anyone's guess, but from what's been shown off so far, the yarn-based platformer (in the vein of Kirby€™s Epic Yarn) looks like it will be well worth the wait. For starters, the yarn-based world looks absolutely amazing, and secondly, the game introduces a number of interesting mechanics for the fabric-based world: eating enemies will turn them into yarn which can both tangle enemies up and fill in missing parts of the environment. Also, Yoshi will be able to use his tongue to reveal hidden areas of the levels, and he can transform parts of himself into woolen power-ups (such as wheels) to progress further. With the excellent addition of co-op play allowing a friend to join in as a red version of Yoshi, it looks like this effort might well erase those disappointing memories of Yoshi's Story and give the Wii U one of its most visually stunning platformers to date. Release Date: Spring 2015
