15 Wrestlers We Can't Believe Were In WWE 2K Video Games
1. Rob Gronkowski

Unlike Damian Lillard, Rob Gronkowski's WWE 2K Battlegrounds insertion wasn't out of the blue. 'Gronkster' had hosted that year's WrestleMania alongside Mojo Rawley, winning the 24/7 title along the way. He was en route to begin his own WWE career, too, before deciding on an NFL return, so it made sense. Sort of.
But, it was still Rob Gronkowski, the acclaimed four-time Super Bowl champion, the famed tight end of the New England Patriots and subsequently the Tampa Bay Buccaneers, in a WWE video game.
Like Damian 'Laheem' Lillard, Gronkowski was added to the 2K Battlegrounds roster via roster update, joining Randy Savage, the 'American Bada**' persona of the Undertaker, a Thanksgiving arena, and a 30th anniversary 'Taker-themed venue. He even came with two alternative attires, rocking the white tank top and red shorts he wore when Pouncing Jinder Mahal on the WrestleMania 33 Kickoff, and the blue and black animal print outfit he wore while capturing the 24/7 title.
WWE 2K Battlegrounds was intended to be big, silly, feed-your-opponent-to-an-alligator levels of fun. Rob Gronkowski brought that in a way that WWE 2K21 would've never been able to.
