16 Best Video Game Easter Eggs, References & Secrets Of 2015

11. Fallout 4's Holotapes

Fallout 4 is Bethesda's biggest game yet, and one where even the smallest nooks and crannies can distract and entertain you for hours. Case in point: the holotapes. Designed essentially as a step-up from a cassette, across the game they're used to hold everything from passcodes to audio diaries, but the best application is to store five themed minigames, all based off what you can only assume are some of Bethesda's childhood favourites. The full list is Red Menace (Donkey Kong), Atomic Command (Missile Command), Zeta Invaders (Space Invaders), Pipfall (Pitfall) and Grognak: The Barbarian. The last one has a hero modelled after Conan, but it plays as a brilliant decision-heavy text adventure. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=CjhJJu7a5Ic
