Though this year's Gamescom wasn't exactly chock full of shocking announcements, there was one hugely unexpected reveal, that Halo Wars 2 is in development. The minute-long CGI trailer didn't do much but convey the typical Halo style and tone, but when the words "Halo Wars 2" were displayed at the end, that was really all 343 Industries needed to say. As is a pleasant surprise to no doubt bolster Microsoft's Windows 10 platform, the game will be releasing for both Xbox One and PC (the original game somehow stayed exclusive to Xbox 360), though fans will unfortunately be waiting at least a year to play it, with a fall 2016 release set. Don't expect to see any gameplay footage for a while, but the sheer confirmation of the game's existence is enough excitement for one day, even if some fans were understandably hoping it might be Halo Reach 2.
