17 Video Games Missing From E3 2016
15. Metroid NX
Fans have been desperate for a new core Metroid game for years, considering that the last legit (and decent) one was 2007's Metroid Prime 3: Corruption.
That the Wii U has been out for almost 4 years without a trace of a Metroid game is, frankly, disgraceful, though it's now clear that Nintendo are putting all their eggs in the basket of their new platform, the NX, which is where the new Metroid will certainly show up.
Sure, Nintendo were clear ahead of E3 that the NX wouldn't appear, but fans still held out hope for a swerve surprise.
When Will We See It?: Nintendo organise their direct livestreams whenever they see fit, so there's no fixed timeframe on this. It'll almost certainly be revealed in the same livestream as the NX itself, so considering the console's apparent March release date, probably around October time.
