9. Gongen Wyzen - Asura's Wrath

The mechanics of fighting Wyzen are incredibly simple, falling back on quick-time events and essentially controlling a number of cutscenes, but the scope, scale and all-round ridiculousness of the bout is one for the ages.

Starting out as an already ridiculous series of on-rails shooting sections where you take down a 'smaller' version of Wyzen (one that's still the size of an arena), eventually Asura punches him so hard (with all six of his arms) that Wyzen is sent into outer space. However, being a deity, he only gets bigger and more powerful, leading to a superbly OTT 'fight' where you have to mash the hell out of all the buttons to defend against a moon-sized finger bearing down on you.

The entire sequence is as barmy as they come, but with the cinematography of the finest anime you've ever seen. If you're yet to experience Asura's Wrath in all its glory, check this one-of-kind game out.
