For the most part it won't matter, as the barmy, cross-licensed plot within is just pure fun to watch unfold. The basic outline goes that the evil Lord Vortech is hoovering up all the powerful relics from across every dimension, meaning Superman's kryptonite, Frodo's ring, the Wizard of Oz's red slippers and many more need retrieving. One of the opening cutscenes that shows off just how much fun Traveller's Tales have had in putting this together comes when Batman enters a portal to chase after Robin, as he ends up slap-bang in the middle of the Gandalf/Balrog showdown.
