Super Meat Boy was one of the first so-called Rage Games of the most recent gaming generation a game that was designed to be as difficult and as unforgiving as possible without making it legitimately impossible to beat it. And boy, does it live up to that title. There are pitfalls and traps galore, lava, needles, spinning saw blades on every platform, the developers really did make sure no effort was spared in trying to kill the player. And when theres a single misstep between you and death well, lets just say youll die a lot in this game. What makes it so much more frustrating is that its actually really tightly made; the controls are tight and responsive, so it feels like every death is your own stupid fault, rather than the game being unfair. The devs themselves described Super Meat Boy as tough as nails and they werent lying.
