18 Essential PS4 Games Every Owner Must Play
4. Rayman: Legends
Say the pixel aesthetic isn't your thing, but you're still pretty partial to platformers. You don't own a Nintendo console, so what's the next best thing - or actually, which title beats the porky red plumber at his own game?
Rayman, that's who, as the Ubi Art team have outdone themselves again, upgrading and refining the limbless wonder for the newest generation. Granted this originally appeared on last-gen hardware, but the step up onto shinier machines has polished up this impeccable graphics engine even more.
Put simply, Rayman: Legends is the best platformer on the PS4 in terms of pure level variety, pick up n' play fun, and a level of charm that pulls it all together nicely. It looks like a cartoon in motion, there are beautifully-sculpted rhythm-based levels that see you bouncing and sliding to the beat, and even a host of Rayman: Origins content makes an appearance, too.
And don't even get me started on the simple joys of the Kung Foot multiplayer minigame. It's up there with Nidhogg and Divekick as one of the most stupidly simplistic multiplayer games you'll never get enough of.
Rayman: Legends is available to buy from Amazon.
