5. Playing It All Again - Ghosts 'N' Goblins
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=uIhyjrXVhzg Capcom hate gamers. That can be the only explanation for the hell that they put players through when they ventured into arcades in the mid-80s and started pumping their change into Ghosts 'n' Goblins. The game was already damned hard the first time around, even requiring you to replay earlier levels if you hadn't picked up the weapon that you needed to defeat the final boss. However, the true WTF moment came when you had finally slayed the beast, only to be informed that the entire game had been an illusion and you had to do it all again "for real" to see the proper ending. Any gamer that had just popped their last coin into the machine to beat the boss would have been screaming WTF at the top of their lungs after reaching that revelation, and those shouts would only echo louder when they discovered the game was even harder the second time around.
