There isn€™t a gamer around that didn€™t welcome the addition of 8-Player Smash in Super Smash Bros. 4 with open arms. It doubled the players, it doubled the chaos, and most importantly, it doubled the fun. Smash parties can now be bigger than ever.

8-Player Smash wasn€™t a sudden addition though. Masahiro Sakurai has admitted that it was originally conceived all the way back during the development of Melee, but technical limitations at the time forced them to scrap it. Finally with the Wii U, Sakurai€™s vision has finally been realized, and the franchise is all the better for it.
