11. Sony Vetoes Cross-Play With Nintendo & Microsoft

At last year's E3, it was revealed that Microsoft and Nintendo would be allowing cross-play between titles such as Rocket League and Minecraft, while Sony abjectly refused to commit to the consumer-friendly practice.

Though Sony eventually cited player protection concerns as their reasoning behind not joining the party, it's hilariously transparent that they simply didn't want to play ball when their market share is so significant. After all, why help the competition when you're in first place?

Of course, it's an awfully short-sighted move on Sony's part, because this harms consumers far more than it does Nintendo or Microsoft. Keeping multiplayer lobbies as active and vibrant as possible, and allowing players to team up with their buddies no matter their platform of choice, seem like pretty basic customer service features in 2017, to be honest.

Microsoft is continuing to talk to Sony about cross-play, but it's best not to get your hopes up, sadly.
