Rarely in video game history has there been a standout moment in which your character is just climbing a ladder, but in MGS, it remains one of the more epic moments in a 20-plus year-old series. MGS3 found a way to make climbing a ladder akin to an adrenaline shot, when clambering up said absurdly long ladder is accompanied by the James Bond-style theme song, Snake Eater. Representing how the end of the mission was upon us and how high the stakes were, the playing of Snake Eater was the icing on the cake as all the tension was building up to this final showdown.
