20 Announced Video Games That Are NEVER Coming Out

Another intriguing concept that initially got people excited but since then has failed to deliver on its actual promise. Confirmed via a Kickstarter campaign in 2015, the action-adventure title would let players explore supernatural mysteries and monsters in a 19th century setting. But the originally planned 2016 release schedule proved far too ambitious. Creative frustrations, team downsizing and a switch from Unity to Unreal Engine 5 further complicating development meant the game kept getting delayed. 

Things gathered momentum again at the 2021 Playstation State of Play with a new trailer for the game. Even that however did not come without controversy, as some of the character designs drew accusations of racial stereotyping and forced a public apology. Then in 2024, the people behind game offered further reassurances that the project was in fact still in the works and released new footage to back up their words. With the team becoming more streamlined and the search for a publisher underway, it seemed the much-awaited indie project was finally nearing completion. 

Since then however things haven't really progressed, as the game’s release proves more elusive than its fantastical monsters.
