When it comes to arcade platformers, in my opinion there can only be one. Not just from 1986, but from any year, and Bubble Bobble is that game. The concept is just crazy; take the role of a cute dinosaur, jump around levels blowing bubbles at baddies to kill them and then grab all the goodies they leave behind.

Bubble Bobble is as crazy and chaotic as it is cute, but boy is it a lot of fun. It’s no surprise this game spawned numerous sequels but none of them quite match up to the original.
