20 Awesome PS3 Exclusives You Need to Play Before Getting A PS4

1. The Last of Us

The Last Of Us It's somewhat fitting really that the best overall game on the Playstation 3 came out this year. It's a fitting end to an incredibly cycle of games, and this is not only the best title on this console, but perhaps the best overall game of the past generation. I genuinely feel sad for those who only had an Xbox and have never experienced it. Taking place in a post-apocalyptic world where humanity has been ravaged by plant spores that turn us into mindless zombies, The Last of Us is a tale of survival in a hostile world. It forces characters who've lost everything to learn to love again and is filled with genuinely moving performances from all involved. Since it's developed by Naughty Dog, the visual masterminds behind Uncharted, the graphics are absolutely superb. The environment is decayed, ravaged and filled with threat, the characters are flawed, grow as time goes on and interact with the environment in a way very few gaming characters do and there's genuinely moments of horror, joy, sadness and countless other emotions as you trek through the once vibrant world. Outside of the storyline, The Last of Us also delivers. It's a shooter at its core, but it's a shooter about survival. It's not like Uncharted where you can spray bullets liberally whenever you want - the Last of Us forces you to scrimp for your tools, and every bullet, bandage and blade is precious. Do you stab an enemy in the neck, or use your last blade to open a door that may or not lead to more spoils? Do you engage enemies head on or pick them off one by one with stealth? The Last of Us rewards different gameplay styles. Of course the real star of The Last of Us is Ellie, your AI companion. Never before has a character in a game felt so alive; she tells jokes, helps you to fight in intuitive ways and even wanders off to look through records in a store. The bond between Ellie and Joel, your character, is the driving force of the game and it is beyond moving to see how it all turns out in the end. If you're a PS3 owner and not got round to playing this one yet, shame on you. Go get it now.
