20 Awful Characters In Amazing Games
11. The Junk Dealer (Death Stranding)
Meeting another person in Death Stranding is an exceedingly rare experience. As such, it feels like many of the characters you do meet want to connect with you. The Junk Dealer, however, does not meet that criterion.
This character is a former gang member turned prepper who collects scraps to resell - pretty obvious given the name. The minute you meet him, he shows off a video of his allegedly dead girlfriend, the Chiral Artist. He then obnoxiously belittles you and all but blames you for her death. Nice way to start a friendship.
During his main order mission, you find out that she's still actually alive and end up reuniting them in a somewhat sweet cutscene - although the Chiral Artist's voice acting is a little rough. It all seems pretty decent, until the emails hit.
Eventually, you'll get a message from him complaining about how awful his now-wife is, and how terrible it is to be married - you're welcome? Then, later you'll learn they've broken up again, but now he misses her and wants her back. This petty flip-flopping of his desires, tinged with his unpleasant attitude and the work you did to reunite them in the first place, makes him easily a character you wish had stayed isolated.
