6. EVA Leaves Snake Naked - MGS3
At the end of Metal Gear Solid 3, Snake has prevented a nuclear disaster, assassinated his former mentor, and won the girl. EVA and Snake celebrate in a cabin, and finally, their romance is allowed to unfurl.
However, once he comes to, Snake is alone. EVA has humped and dumped him. Searching around the cabin, Snake soon discovers a tape from EVA, and she reveals information that was originally withheld from the hero.
EVA discloses that she is not actually a Russian spy, nor part of the CIA, instead, she was an agent sent by the Chinese Government to procure the Philosopher’s Legacy. Duped by EVA, Snake smokes a cigar to process the information.
EVA continues, and she reveals much more important information: The Boss wasn’t actually a defector of the United States, instead, she sacrificed her reputation and her life to become a double agent: seemingly joining the Soviet Union, but to actually take down Volgin from the inside.
EVA’s message ultimately changes the motivations of Snake and directly leads to him defecting from the US in order to create his soldier nation.
