20 Best Ever E3 Moments
5. Sony's Year Of Dreams (2015)
Sony's 2015 E3 presser is a strong contender for one of the greatest conferences in the show's history, enough that fans quickly dubbed it the "Year of Dreams."
The show revolved around three genuinely jaw-dropping game reveals which fans had been anticipating for years, and yet which impressively hadn't been spoiled ahead of time.
Sony kicked things off by re-introducing The Last Guardian, last seen way back at E3 2009, and confirming that not only was the game indeed still coming out, it was now a PS4 exclusive.
Later, they revealed that a Kickstarter-funded Shenmue III was in development, almost 15 years after the second game left fans on an agonising cliffhanger.
And the pièce de résistance? Announcing that a ground-up remake of Final Fantasy VII was on the way, confirmed with a gorgeously glossy cinematic trailer.
Considering that The Last Guardian and Final Fantasy VII Remake - what we've played of the multi-part project so far, anyway - both delivered on expectations, two outta three ain't bad.
It's impossible to downplay the absurd levels of hype coming out of that show, ensuring no other conference that year had a chance of matching it.
