Unlike Resident Evil 4 and Skyrim, that have had more ports and polishes than most games should (seriously, why is RE4 on the Zeebo?), they are merely the same game with shinier visuals.

Whereas 2018's Shadow of the Colossus remake is more than a remaster of its 2011 version, but an entirely rebuilt game. Still retaining everything that made it beautiful back in 2005, from its whimsical setting and Kow Otani's serene score, Bluepoint built the game from the ground up.

If they were any reason to buy a PS4 Pro and a 4K TV, this would be the game I would point you to. Whilst the original had its charm, it was still a bit rough. Whereas this version is still the exact same game, it is staggeringly beautiful to take in the barren world between each colossus.

Even the colossi themselves look more like real, living entities, with lifelike fur and that dormant, weathered look we only glimpsed back in the PS2 days.

Forget speedrunning, a world this beautiful needs to be explored and taken in.
