3. Fire Emblem: Three Houses

Three Houses is the story of Byleth, an adventurer/mercenary who pulls a job that goes just a bit too well, and as a result, finds herself in a teaching position at a hoity toity military academy for the sons and daughters of nobles in the country of Fodlan.

As she quickly discovers, however, this school is not teaching the kinds of frivolity one would expect from a finishing school for rich brats. But is instead preparing them for an inevitable succession war for the throne. A war that Byleth will end up getting dragged into as well, and must choose a side. The side she chooses will determine who lives, who dies, and who gets to shape Fodlan's future.

What makes the story so interesting is how VASTLY different each side of it is, encountering different characters, settings, and ideas. But every one remains the same in the end, with you having to kill multiple characters that the game spent several hours getting you to fall in love with. There is absolutely no shame in playing this multiple times to do every route - the game encourages it, in fact. Just be prepared to have your heart broken in pretty much every single way.
