20 Best Video Games Of 2017
13. Persona 5
Hands-down one of the most visually stunning and aesthetically memorable video games of the year, Atlus have knocked it out the park when it comes to presenting an interactive entertainment experience.
That might sound strange, but everything from the hyper-stylish opening cutscene to the various original songs and compositions that back different parts of the game, to how the characters dress and especially the demonic underworlds you're exploring - everything is such a joy to take in.
And it's a good job, because mechanically and character-wise, is where Persona 5 fumbles a little bit. Gameplay is traditional turn-based combat, with the opportunity for many auto-attack options that speed things along, and though Persona 4's characters outshine this bunch at every turn, they still factor into a solid "delve into the past and catch back up to the present" storyline that pays off in the end.
Granted, it'll take you 80+ hours to see everything on offer, but when just seeing Persona in motion is such a delight, that's one trip you should definitely go on.
